Emily Douglas Playground

Emily Douglas Park is in the heart of Shandon. It is a bowl-shaped park, sloping down to a basketball court. The many pine trees cast a lot of shade which means there is very little grass and a lot of dirt. It has swings, baby swings, and two playsets, however the equipment is somewhat old. The playsets are designed more for younger children. There is plenty of sand for digging and playing. There is a water spray that is operated during the summer months although you may want to call ahead as it is not always turned on.

Emily Douglas Park's neighborhood center offers programs such as summer camps. Inside, there are ping pong tables, foosball tables, vending machines, and restrooms. The park is handicapped accessible. The neighborhood center is open Monday thru Friday, 2:00pm-6:00pm.

It looks like Emily Douglas Park will be getting an amphitheater! Columbia City Parks
