Harbison State Forest

Plan to spend a day at Harbison State Forest. Hike or mountain bike to a grove of 14 historic trees, including a tree that went to the moon, a George Washington Carver Persimmon, and a Woodrow Wilson Hackberry. The trees are marked with displays that explain their signifigance. Follow the signs to the Historic Trees Trail.
You can play frisbee or soccer in the field next to the Gazebo. Walk down to the Broad River for a great view or canoe access. If you do plan to canoe or kayak on the river, you must file a float plan with the park office. Forms are available at the information stations throughout the park.
Bathrooms are available next to the Eagle Shelter.

To get there, take the Harbison Blvd. exit from I-26 and head east. Harbison Blvd ends at Broad River Rd. Veer to the right and you will see the park entrance to your left just a block down.
